I have been a collector of many things over the course of my life. The WWII interest started at an early age, while playing with the “war booty” my relatives and father brought back from the war. These items were subsequently handed down to me over time and became the core of my collection. Having been raised in the wild west, guns were one of my main areas of interests. I quickly realized the quality and design superiority of the German weapons and small arms compared to the Allies.
I was fortunate enough to live close to J. Curtis Earl, the largest machine gun dealer in the world at the time. Helping him set up at local shows was an exciting time for me. Growing up and working in law enforcement helped me to appreciate German and Austrian weapons all over again.
The interest in weapons led to more fascination with the quality of all things made during the Third Reich. The uniforms and regalia were just more colorful and made with quality which the Allies did not feel the need to copy with their mass production .
I think people need to understand history and learn from it so that the same mistakes are never made again. I have spent a lot of time studying this period, visiting the country, and learning good from bad material.
