Adolf Hitler Bronze Bust, life size, maker marked "F Beyer", post war base, approx. 13.25 in height without base, 27 lbs. Franz Beyer : Beyer completed an apprenticeship as a sculptor and modeler from 1908 to 1914 and studied with Karl Groß at the Dresden School of Applied Arts , where he attended night school at the School of Applied Arts. He served as a soldier in World War I and was taken prisoner of war, from which he returned to Dresden in 1919. Here he worked from 1919 to 1931 as a master in a workshop for small sculptures and worked, among other things, as an ivory carver and modeller. He then worked as a freelance sculptor. Beyer was represented at the Great German Art Exhibition in Munich in 1941 and 1944. In 1941 he showed the Stucco statuette "Old front fighter as a local rifleman in the Polish campaign". From 1939 to 1945 he was conscripted for military service. When Dresden was bombed in February 1945, Beyer's studio and part of his artistic work were destroyed. After 1945, Beyer worked freelance again.
