Alfred Arnold Sr. Studio Portrait, 9 3/4" X 13 3/4", shown wearing his Gauleitung tunic and visor. Alfred Arnold Sr. was born in Ellhofen on 16.6.1888. From 1907-1909 he served voluntary with in the 29th field-artillery-regiment. He worked as a self-employed farmer 1914-1916. He was a soldier in 1916 when he became Unteroffizier in the 1. Batterie of the 65. replacement field-artillerie-regiment. In 1931 he became member of the NSDAP, Nr. 595088; he also became special district advisor and speaker of the NSDAP farmers in 1932. He became member of the Württembergische Landtag on 12.11.1933 and member of the Reichstag. In 1933 he was agricultural advisor of the Gau Würtemberg; agricultural Staatskommisar; leader of the Würtembergische farmers. In 1934 he joined the SS, Nr. 14671601.02. with the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer, 20.04.1934 SS-Sturmbannführer, Staff SS Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamt (racial- and settlement main office), 20.04.1935 SS-Obersturmbannführer, 1935-1942 Rasse und Siedlungshauptamt, 15.09.1935 SS-Standartenführer, 30.01.1937 SS-Oberführer, 09.11.1942 SS-Brigadeführer; Gau-office leader (Gau-Amtsleiter) for the land people in the Gau Würtemberg-Hohenzollern, Gau-Haupt-Abschnittsleiter1944 Staff SS-Oberabschnitt Main. Arnold survived the war and ran a building business.
