Description

In 1920, the establishment of a Golden Wedding Anniversary Medal was proposed and established in 1925. It was awarded starting in 1926. Until 1936, various foundries produced the medals in bronze. The obverse depicts a kneeling couple before an altar, holding hands. The surrounding inscription reads: "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persevere in prayer. Romans 12:12." On the reverse, a cross divides four Christian symbols: Alpha (beginning) and Omega (end), wheat (bread), and chalice (wine). The surrounding text reads: "The Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union * On the Golden Wedding Anniversary." 80mm
